Redtail and Pacolet unite as RPM Holdings to turn methane waste into renewable fuel

A new player is shaking up the clean energy scene. Redtail Renewables and Pacolet Milliken have teamed up to form RPM Holdings, a joint venture unveiled on September 4 that aims to turn methane waste into renewable natural gas and scale up biogas production across the United States.
Their first move: acquiring a landfill gas project near Owensboro, Kentucky. The site, expected to go live by year’s end, will capture methane from decomposing waste and convert it into renewable fuel for homes and businesses. A second project in New York is already underway, signaling RPM’s plan to move fast.
The partnership pairs Redtail’s hands-on experience in renewable gas systems with Pacolet Milliken’s deep background in infrastructure investment. Together, they hope to create a nationwide model for biogas development that is both profitable and scalable. Analysts say it could shape how renewable natural gas projects grow in the next decade.
“This collaboration shows what’s possible when developers and investors unite behind a shared vision for sustainable growth,” said Casey Holsapple, CEO of Redtail Renewables. “By capturing methane that would otherwise escape into the atmosphere, we’re turning environmental challenges into clean energy opportunities.”
The move reflects rising confidence in the renewable natural gas market, which has matured from niche projects into a central piece of America’s clean energy puzzle. As more states set ambitious climate goals and utilities hunt for low-emission fuel sources, biogas is gaining ground as a practical, ready-now solution.
RPM Holdings still faces hurdles, from pipeline access to complex regulations. But with strong financing and technical expertise, it is well positioned to make an impact. By targeting landfill gas, one of the biggest sources of methane emissions, the company stands at the forefront of a growing sector.
If all goes to plan, RPM Holdings will not just be cleaning up waste. It could help redefine how the country powers its future, one landfill at a time.
